What is BuckEye Feed for Horse?

The Buckeye Nutrition Group has been supplying Ohio's horse for 100 years. It dates back to 1910, when the Pocock family of Massillon opened a mill in this town, The Buckeye Cereal Corporation, to deliver wheat to the expanding populations of the South. The Buckeye Nutrition Group has been breeding Ohio Arabian Horse for 100 years.

It dates back to 1910, when the Pocock family of Massillon opened a mill in this town, The Buckeye Cereal Corporation, to deliver flours to expanding centres of the Eastern world. Buckeye Cereal bought a granary in Dalton near by to buy raw materials using by-products of these raw materials - durum meal and bran, cornflour and flour for the production of animal feed, which included horses.

Buckeye's innovative technology was introduced to the food markets under the name Buckeye Family. While the leisure equine sector grew further in the 1980s, Buckeye made its first appearance on the high-value feed markets with the characteristic "Gro N' Win" feed, which was designed to complement either grassland or lucerne forage. He has been to Kentucky and the ranch where Queen Elizabeth has been feeding her Arabian N' Win and other Buckeye foods to the Queen's 28 Thoroughbred cattle.

The queen found out that the fillies weaned bigger offspring after returning to England and asked Buckeye to send feed to the UK. However, the cost of delivery was extremely high, which prompted Buckeye to name the firm as the UK licenced producer. The two Stults & DaHinden family businesses were held and managed by Buckeye Feed Mills until the sale of the business in 1996.

Buckeye was acquired by another mid-size business, Mars, Inc. in September 2005, focusing on horse-feeding. Mars, Inc. is a leading supplier of confectionery (Snickers and M&M'SĀ®) and animal feed with nearly 65,000 employees around the world. Today, Dalton trades under the name Mars Horsecare US Inc. with the" Buckeye Nutrition" name.
