He quickly became the youngest driver to hit the $1 million in 1999 at the tender age of 24. He was a valued member of the U.S. Olympic jumping team at the last three Olympic Games.
At the 2004 Athens Olympics, he made his début an unforgettable experience and helped the USA win a U.S. title with legend Sapphire. The two of them won the 2006 World Equestrian Games and won the 2006 medals. Ward and Sapphire reiterated their Olympics at the 2008 Hong Kong Olympics and won the squad golden for the second time in a row.
Ward and Rothchild were part of the US jumping team's 2014 and 2015 World Equestrian Games bronce medals and the 2015 Pan-American Games. At the Pan American Games, Ward won his first single prize - a golden one - for what he had missed during his ordeal.
