The PVC is in Reno, NV and is open to the general public 6 nights a week. PVC is available to the general public as well. Most of the pets are available for adoption, but some may not be available immediately if they have not finished the adoption preparations before. How to get to PVC: The plant is about 20 nautical miles from Reno/Sparks, Nevada.
Coming from Interstate 80, take Junction 18 (Pyramid Way/State Road 445.) PVC is about 20 mph north to Ironwood Road. Take an easterly turn on Ironwood to get to the plant.
The Palomino Valley Wild Horse Adoption Centre
Palomino Valley National Wild Horse is open from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., except on public holiday. Are you interested in having a boar or burden adopted at the establishment, please call the bureau at (775) 475-2222 to arrange an appropriate time.
PVC offers you a large choice of game horses. From a historical point of view, PVC usually has only game horses, but some donkeys will be available from time to time. Equines that are one year or older are not stowed in other than a cattle truck. It is only possible to put spreaders or donkeys into a two-horse trailers if all partitions have been taken off from the inside and the rear doors of the trailers are closed to the top.
Check with your local Bureau of Land Management before accepting your tag to make sure it is not unacceptable. Palomino Valley corals are about 17 years old. and Pyramid Way (S. R. 445) and about 12 miles just south ofthe crossing of State Routes 445 and 446.
When travelling from north take I-80 eastwards to S.R. 445 / Pyramid Way (exit 18). Drive the S. R. 445 / Pyramid Way northbound. About 20 mile to Ironwood Rd., the entrance to the centre. Take a right (east) onto Ironwood Rd. which will take you directly to the corridors.
When traveling southwards on U.S. 395, take the N. McCarran junction. Take a turn to your right (east) onto McCarran Blvd. Take a turn to your right onto Pyramid Blvd. or S. R. 445). Eight leagues from this junction to Ironwood Rd., the gateway to the centre. Take a right (east) onto Ironwood Rd. which will take you directly to the corridors.
On the I-80, if you are traveling eastwards, take the #18 "Pyramid Way / Blvd" at the Nugget Casino / Hotel. Take a turn to your right (north) under the motorway and continue on Pyramid Way / Blvd. Ironwood Rd., which is the gateway to the centre. Take a right (east) onto Ironwood Rd. which will take you directly to the corridors.
When driving westwards on I-80 - take the #46 "Pyramid Lake / Wadsworth Exit". You drive through Wadsworth and following the signposts to Pyramidensee, Gerlach and Sutcliff. Take a right turn with the inscription "Pyramidensee / Gerlach; S.R. 447". Head Nixon 15 nautical miles due north and turn off right at a Pyramid Lake / Sutcliff (S. R. 446) roadway.
Continue on S. R. 446 westwards along Pyramid Lake for 15 mile. Take a road signposted Sparks (S. R. 445) and turn off towards the Sparks. Head southward on S.R. 445 for about 12 mile. Take a turn to your right (east) onto Ironwood Rd. which will take you directly to the corridors. Travelling with the US-50A or US-95A to the N - drive through Wadsworth and signposted Pyramidensee, Gerlach and Sutcliff.
Take a right turn with the inscription "Pyramidensee / Gerlach; S.R. 447". Head Nixon 15 nautical miles due north, turn off right at a Pyramid Lake / Sutcliff (S. R. 446) road mark. Continue on S. R. 446 westwards along Pyramid Lake for 15 mile. Take a road signposted Sparks (S. R. 445) and turn off towards the south.
Head southward on S.R. 445 for about 12 mile. Take a turn to your right (east) onto Ironwood Rd. which will take you directly to the corridors. When you travel westwards on the I-80 from points Eastern Accommodation, you will find meals and petrol in Fallon and Fernley.
