We manufacture and fix nice power calipers. Please come and see our saddle store in Toccoa, Georgia today. After graduating from Georgia Tech's engineer and designer department, Tom's first professional experience took him to the top echelons of several large enterprises not involved in horse backwork or saddlery. A passion for the arts and equestrian sports, he underwent his first professional transformation, becoming marketing manager for several large saddle manufacturers.
Tom became General Manager of Billy Cook Saddlery of Buford, Georgia, Billy's right arm, and head of the most lucrative business unit of the Potts-Longhorn Group. He has a vocational training, a broad riding background and a broad riding background that gives him an understanding that is not accessible to others who are less experienced in one or more of these areas.
Message from Tom Howdy... my Mrs. Charon and I are saddlers... for over twenty years. Since we are on both sides of the perimeter barrier (owner, passenger and saddler), we have evolved an ability to know what the gear works and what does not. She is so good at it that she even gives seminaries about tacks and tacks all over the south.
Since we do not manufacture with an assembling line, we only manufacture a little more than a hundred calipers per year and it usually lasts several month until we can supply an individual caliper. Whilst we still manufacture customised braids and chest collar as part of the full saddle kit, Charon still design and arrange the manufacture of many of the sticky products we do.
She has a lot of equestrian expertise, an engineering background, an attention to detail and experienced working with "problem horses", giving her a good understanding of the right designs, fits and functions of the horse related gear. For 7-1/2 years, she was lucky enough to complete an apprenticeship with Billy Cook, whom she considered to be one of the best saddle designers in the world.
Today Charon is an accomplished saddler and tanner who knows the techniques and art of her work. An acknowledged specialist in saddle and related areas, she is a beloved teacher at seminaries, workshop and the like funded by organisations range from academic institutions to community equestrian associations.
