We wish you all a Happy New Year and look forward to your New Year presentations and good advances towards your 2016 Aims. We thought for our first 2016 blogs that we would help to shed some clear relief on the rules for riding hats that will apply this months.
The manufacturer recommends replacing the hat every 4-5 years, as they are prone to shock and are exposed to a large amount of debris and dusts. If your hat fits well and has not suffered any effects or damages, it is up to the riding organization whether you need a new hat or not.
We have reworked the hat regulations for most contests, and we have included some of the most beloved organizations that were reworked in 2016. In case of any doubts, you should always contact the organization you will be travelling with. Evening Ireland stipulates that your hat must satisfy one of the following requirements (Note: Visor caps are NOT suitable for the motocross period, but Skull/Jockey caps are suitable for training, jumping and cross-country periods); The Charles Owen AYR8, Charles Owen Pro II and Gatehouse Chelsea Air Flow Pro with crystal are all Eventing Ireland approved rideshorses.
Pony Club approved helmets are the Charles Owen YR8 Junior Riding Hat, the Charles Owen Pro II and the Caldene Ultra Plus with PAS015. The Charles Owen Wellington Professional, Charles Owen APM II and Caldene Ultra Plus with PAS015 comply with all the necessary PAS 015 and PAS 015 standard for Brights Riding Clubs.
The following norms are permissible for dressage in Great Britain: English dressage will allow EN 1384 and BSEN 1384 in Great Britain until 31 December 2016, but not after that date.
