Westerns dressage: A cowboy hat or a helmet?
If I sit on a saddle, I use a riding helmet." I have my pupils wearing riding hats. I' m riding and showing western and training. So the helmet/has dilemma, style vs. security, traditions or good judgement are very important to me. The therapist says it takes up to 2 years for all my regular activity, riding included, to be totally revamped.
I have to say, as a Western horseman, I like my Stetson. I am a safety-conscious western training horse coach and training horse and I like my helmet. Respecting Western traditions, repetitive wounds to the heads without a horse have made it necessary for me and the whole of my loved ones to put aside all the" reasons" that humans give for not having to wear a helmet.
